The Gulf Islands Driftwood is an award-winning weekly newspaper published by Driftwood Publishing Ltd. of Salt Spring Island, British Columbia.
Founded in 1960, the Driftwood serves the islands of Salt Spring, Galiano, Mayne, Pender and Saturna, a popular area for tourists noted for its pleasant climate, beautiful scenery, arts and crafts, farms and interesting residents.
The Driftwood is a paid-circulation Wednesday newspaper reflecting community affairs and providing a forum for public opinion. Market surveys have consistently shown high readership levels as islanders generally take an avid interest in their community.
A free Friday paper called the Driftwood Weekender is also distributed throughout Salt Spring Island.
