With 25 years experience in the advertising, marketing and newspaper industry, Candy directs the national sales
and marketing teams at Black Press media. She is former publisher of the Surrey/North Delta Leader where she received
the Attorney General's Award for Community Service and the Burnaby/New West NewsLeader which was named Best in Canada
during her tenure.
She has also been Group Training Manager and Director of Regional Sales and Development.
While providing leadership to our newspapers and management team,
Candy maintains close ties with retailers, businesses, agencies and provincial organizations.

Melissa Bencze
National Account Manager
Melissa began her career with Black Press in 2004 through a co-operative education program offered at Kwantlen University College.
In 2005 she moved into a full time Regional Sales position and has worked to develop key accounts and marketing strategies throughout the Black Press lower mainland papers.
Melissa was recently appointed to the National Sales team and will continue to work with businesses across BC to assist them in achieving their advertising goals. With her innovative approach and knowledge of BC, Melissa brings her positive attitude, marketing skills, product knowledge and passion to the team.
Melissa has completed her Marketing Management diploma at Kwantlen University College and is currently working to complete a Bachelor of Business Administration in Entrepreneurial Leadership Degree.

Brenda has worked for Black Press for 21 years in many aspects of the industry including accounting and ad production. She also worked as an Ad Controller for one of our community newspapers, The Langley Times and was a sales representative for the Aldergrove Star. Brenda has been with the National Sales office in an administrative role for over three years and provides excellent sales support for the National Account Managers.  Philip Tan
GIS Analyst, Flyer Distribution Support
Philip graduated from Simon Fraser University with a Bachelor degree in Geography and a specialized certificate in Spatial Information System. He has years of experience in performing demographic and spatial analyses working at Ministry of Environment and Black Press. By the use of GIS technology and PCensus, he creates thematic maps and performs target marketing for the sales team and Black Press papers. Besides maintaining the GIS systems, he co-ordinates flyer distribution and maintains our carrier route database. Philip also provides client-specific information such as target maps, census reports, and distribution numbers in various levels of geography.
